Mass Schedule changes for September 8-11th, 2014
Due to the priest convocation, the Mass schedule for the week of September 8th-11th will be as follows:
Monday September 8- 6:30am Mass
Tuesday & Wednesday September 9&10th Communion service @ 9:00am
Thursday September 11 6:30pm Mass
Friday September 12 6:30am & 9:00am Mass (back to regular schedule)
Saint Monica's Faith Formation Registration:
Class will begin September 3 and end in May 2015, a full school year.
You choose one session:
Sunday: 9:00 am – 10:15 am Grades Pre-k -5th grade
Pre-K & Kindergarten only offered on Sundays.
Wednesday 4:30 pm – 5:45 pm or 6:30 – 7:45 pm for Grades 1st-5th grade classes offered.
Faith Formation Class fee is $110 , $40 per child if you volunteer as a catechist!

VIRTUS TRAINING Protecting God's Children October 1 & 5, 2014
Protecting God's Children is the Safe Environment Training Program required by the Archdiocese of Atlanta for all students in parish faith formation programs. Parents and other interested adults are encourages to visit www.archatl.com/offices/ocyp/senviroment/parents.html. Username is SEtraining and the password is Virtus. Children will be shown a short video and the complete age appropriate activities to reinforce the message. Parents must give permission for their children to participate in this training.
Forms will be sent home on the first day of class. You may opt out of this if you so choose. If your child is not here, he will be considered absent for the training. Families who opt out will do other work on the scheduled day of training. Parents are encouraged to attend as well. St. Monica's next blood drive will be held on
Sunday September 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Lyke hall.
Please consider giving blood or donate food for the donors.
Look for the Blood Drive table after all Masses the weekends of
August 30-31st and September 6-7th.
Walk-ins will be welcome if time allows.

Saint Monica's Youth Choir:
Rehearsals will begin on August 28th from 5:55-7:00pm in the Church!
We are looking for young singers in grades 3-12 who have a desire to serve in our music ministry. We invite parents for the younger grades to join for the first part of rehearsal on the 28th in order to complete registration and to attend a brief overview. Saint Monica's Youth Choir sings once a month for the 12:30pm mass as well as special Masses and programs throughout the year. Middle Schoool/High School Drama Auditions:
Auditions for St. Monica’s Youth Christmas Pageant will be held on:
Saturday, September 6th 2014, from 3:00-5:00PM in St. Augustine Hall.
MS/HS Drama Youth who participated in the Catholic Camp dramas this past June… We would love for you to take part in the pageant.
We need actors, dancers and singers.
We also need Brass, Strings, and woodwind instruments.
Rehearsals for the Christmas Pageant will begin on September 13th and run up to the Christmas holiday. The amount of rehearsals you will need to attend will depend on your role. The performance is: January 3, 2015.
The Run-thru, Tech and Dress rehearsals will be announced in the very near future. Please email Teri Khan for a specific audition time. If you would like to audition, but cannot make the September 6th audition date, please contact Teri Khan, Youth Choir Director: Tkhan@saintmonicas.com
FAITH ON FIRE
Our new Adult Formation program, ABLAZE, begins
Sunday, September 7
9:15-10:15am in Saint Augustine Hall
Be sure to read Father Michael's introductory leter on page 6 of our bulletin this week about ABLAZE, Faith on Fire! An exciting new faith formation project designed to stir the embers of faith so as to set the world ablaze.
Adults of all ages - from college to those golden years and everything in between - will be invited to weekly Sunday discipleship programs complete with coffee, music, multimedia presentations, small group discussions and more, all aimed at helping you to grow as Christian disciples and, ultimately, friends of God. Keep an ear out for more information on this new evangelization project!

Grief Support Group, Healing Hearts:
Support, love and compassion, this is what you will experience in Healing Hearts Grief Support Group. If you are a parishioner grieving the death of a loved one, join together to pray, reflect, and share your loss. This Archdiocese approved 12 week program is based on “Understanding Your Grief, Ten Essential Touchstones For Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart”, by Dr. Alan Wolfelt.
Start date Saturday, September 20, 2014 through Saturday January 17, 2015. (There will be no Saturday sessions over the Holy days/holidays.)
Course materials $27.00, and commitment to the 12 week workshop.

Mother’s of Young Children -
We are a group of mom’s coming together weekly in the church nursery or at a park or playground. The group starts back up on Tuesday, September 9, with playgroup. We meet in the church nursery Tuesday mornings from 10 am - 11:15 am. We hold a moms night out or a family potluck once a month.
