High School Youth Group

Join us after the 5:00pm mass for a fun filled night at Saint Monica's Youth Group.

Teens meet on Sunday nights for Saint Monica's high school Youth Group immediately following the 5:00pm mass. All teens in 9-12 grade are welcome to attend. We beging with food and fellowship. Topics vary and are presented through speakers, skits, music and activities followed by small breakout groups for discussion.

Retreats:  Retreats are one of the highlights of St. Monica’s youth group. They truly are a life-changing experience. There is a Confirmation retreat each year, as well as a fall retreat for all 9th –12th graders. In the Spring, we have a Men’s and Women’s Retreat weekend as well as a Junior/Senior Retreat.  In the summer, teens can go on a mission trip as well as other retreats and Catholic camps. We still meet for pizza and prayer throughout the summer as well.  Rising juniors and seniors are also invited to attend a retreat for deeper faith formation and leadership training. See the calendar and/or summer schedule in the RE building for more specifics.

Service:  We as Catholics are called to live a life of service as Christ did. Through mission work, trips to the soup kitchen in Atlanta, cardboard box city, and other service opportunities, we try to be the hands and feet of Christ to those who are poor both physically and spiritually.  Service flows from a life of prayer, rooted in the Sacraments, which is essential to every service activity.

Activities:  Throughout the year there are opportunities for many trips including XLT which is a monthly night of worship where teens from around the diocese gather, white water rafting, six flags etc. See the bulletin and calendar for upcoming trips!

Visitors and friends are ALWAYS welcome!

ADULTS  OF ALL AGES—WANT TO HELP  BRING TEENS TO CHRIST?

St. Monica’s  CORE Team:  The youth group would not happen if it weren't for St. Monica’s dedicated CORE team. These are young adult and adult volunteers that have a desire to invest in the lives of teens.  They team up to help plan and attend youth group nights, retreats, trips and commit to on-going relational ministry with the teens. If you have a love for your Catholic faith and a desire to share it with teens please consider joining us on CORE. Pray about it!

The following groups will be available upon request as interest warrants:

Discipleship Groups:HIGH SCHOOL Discipleship Groups

THESE GROUPS ARE SIGN UP ONLY! This is a ministry open to 10th-12th grade teens who would like to go deeper in their faith! To participate in this ministry, teens should sign up at stmyouthgroup.com or click on the picture below. Upon signing up online, you will be placed in a Discipleship group and emailed about specific details regarding your group.  These groups are at the heart of what our teens long for and need most. Groups of 7-10 teens of the same gender will gather with adult leaders, for a little over an hour, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month to pray, read and share reflections on Sunday’s Mass readings, focus on virtues and make resolutions to grow in holiness together. These groups will meet offsite and will be led by the same two adults throughout the whole year.

DECISION POINT Nights:

ALL ARE WELCOME! Every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 6:30 – 8:30 PMall 9th – 12th graders are invited to attend Mass, share a meal and grow in their faith together. The Church calls each of us to be missionary and spread the Gospel, but we often overlook the need to take time and learn what it means to even live the Gospel in our daily lives. These nights will focus on concrete ways for young teens to be better disciples of Christ. Gather for Mass at 6:30pm and join us after for fellowship over pizza as well as praise music, a talk and time for prayer. For those who are able, we are very thankful for a small contribution of $3.00 per teen to cover the cost of pizza each week.
