Slide show of our family and troops
Family
and friends of our troops have joined together to provide mutual assistance and
comfort to our active duty military (overseas or at home) and their families
who are coping in their absence. We
send care packages to overseas troops, seasonal cards and letters and other
forms of support that the group deems helpful or necessary. BSFC members will coordinate fund raising and
donations for care packages with the entire congregation, especially during the
fall.
When We Meet
3rd Thursday of the Month from
Who We Support
We support any service
member of our military that is submitted to us. The service member need not be a
parishioner of St. Monica’s to get Blue Star Fan Club support. The only criteria is to be in the military.
What We Do
The purpose of our group
is both to support our troops overseas and their family members here at home.
· We send Deployment packages to newly deployed troops. The packages include items such as a prayer blanket and cloth, rosaries, prayer book, cool tie, and some other small items.
· We send Transitioning Home packages that include a Welcome Home card, a book called “Down Range, To Iraq and Back” and some other small items.
· We send “Christmas Stocking” care packages in November
· We meet quarterly for dinner for fellowship with family members
· We provide monthly support in the forms of cards, letters and packages.
Prayers for our Country
and military can be found here. Please continue to keep our troops, our
country and the hope for peace in your prayers.
